Pre-test Question slides crashing my project

Community Beginner ,

Hi guys,

Here's my weekly Captivate 8 question! (I've come to love how it should still be in beta....)

I'm attempting to insert a multi-choice question slide, as a pretest, but each time I click OK, captivate just flat-out crashes. no error messages or bug report dialogue appears, it just dies.

i've re-started the machine several times, and made sure no other software is running.

I really want to love Captivate, I do, so i hope someone can shed some light on this issue, one of many, many issues i've encountered since buying this product.

Here's my spec;

Mac Pro (mid 2010)

2 x 2,66GHz 6-core Intel Xeon

24 Gb RAM

ATI Radion HD 5770 1024Mb

OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

And i've got Tb's of storage still available.

Please help! Thanks for your time.

Karl

*update - installed the 8.03.290 patch. Now EVERYTHING crashes Captivate! i have no such issues with any other Adobe product, or any other app.

Can you try if this is happening also in a new project? In that case use the CleanPreferences, please.

When did you last clear the cache?

Hi Lilybiri,

Thank you, as ever, for your response.

I hadn't cleared it for a couple of weeks. have just done so but the problem persists, not just for pre-test question slides but for graded and survey too.
