Precisely resizing and shapes in a responsive project

Hello

Two quick questions

  1. I'm trying to get two rectangular shapes in a responsive project to be the same size; however, when it try to resize one shape in the fluid box it alters the size of the other shape. I've tried dragging and I've tried the postion tab in properties. How do I get both shapes to be the same size?
  2.  When I copy and paste the two shapes from one fluid box into another, there's resizing happening that makes things out of alignment by a pixel or two. When I try to resolve this I'm getting stuck with the problem mentioned in question 1. Both fluid boxes have the same settings.

This is taking my OCD to another level. Assistance appreciated.

When using Fluid Boxes location and size is indeed taken out of your control because they are linked with the size and the setup of the fluid box.

Can you post a screenshot of the setup of the Fluid box which contain both shapes?

I just created this example, you'll see the Properties for one of the Fluid box. I kept the Maintain Aspect ratio for the shapes. I set up first the shapes in the middle fluid box: duplicate the first shape and than set up the fluid box as in the Properties panel. I also used Distribute button. When copied to the top fluid box, set up the same way they'll look identical to the first fluid box; but when clicking the Distribute button again, the height will increase. You can check the % of their size relative to the fluid box in the Position Properties, but only one dimension can be set there depending on fluid box having Horizontal or Vertical flow.

Thank you for the swift response, lenghty explaination, and screenshot.

As requested, I've attached a screeshot.

The goal is for equal space between all shapes, all shapes to have the same height, and all edges to align.

Is this a quiz slide? It is not built on the default quizzing master slides for responsive projects, which I explained here:

https://blog.lilybiri.com/quiz-slides-with-fluid-boxes

That screenshot shows equally spaced shapes. As for the height, it cannot be set up in Position Properties for horizontal flow fluid boxes. That is the reason I activated Space Around which will automatically add padding both horizontally and vertically. You could also play with the padding, which is in px but that is more of a trial and error. Make sure to check the result in other resolutions using the arrow at the top of the screen.

To have identical shapes in another fluid box, make sure both fluid boxes have the same height (% in the Position Properties) and similar setup as in the screenshot. If the height is different, copy/paste the shapes but do not use Distribute objects button.

OK! Just FYI you can find a lot of examples of custom questions on my blog. I hope you realize that you cannot keep all quiz features when changing the layout of a default quiz layout (master slides)?

Formatting: I solved the alignment issue, thank you!

Quiz: with shared actions, I should (fingers crossed) be able to get the quiz to do what I need it to do.

With Shared actions? My favourite topic... but ignored by most users.

So, if you need help with the actions, just post it.
