Pretest and Play-bar function.

It has occurred to me that when using a Pretest disables the Play-bar options in the Skin Editor, however I want students to be able to go back and look at previous slides during the quiz. Is there anyway to add buttons during the pretest that go back to previous slides or enable the Play-Bar forward and backwards functions even during a Quiz?

I think you may be getting the Pre-test mixed up with the module's Quiz.  They aren't the same.

The concept of a Pre-test is that this is always at the very beginning of the module and is regarded as a way of determining whether or not the learner's comprehension of the subject matter is already good enough that they don't need to complete the module.

The Pretest is a separate thing to the actual Quiz in that module, which always comes later.

So even though you can (in theory) add Smart Shape buttons into the later quiz to enable navigation back to content slides (assuming you have Backward Movement allowed in Quiz Settings) none of these are going to be in the middle of the Pretest questions.
