Preview or published video will not play with closed caption enabled

Hello Adobe Community!

I am having some issues with enabling closed caption.  Prior to recently upgrading to Captivate 8, I created my training videos in Captivate 7. I enabled CC through the skin editor for all the videos and had no problem with playback.

Last week I upgraded to Captivate 8.  Yesterday, I converted one of my Captivate 7 videos to Captivate 8.  I made a few changes by adding a table of contents, edited one of the slides, and double checked all my CC settings by following the closed caption video from Dr. Pooja Jaisingh.  I published the video (as SWF) to test the playback and again everything worked fine.  I made one more slide change then republished the video.  When I went to play the video the playbar controls were “broken” and all squished at the top left of the screen (see screen shot).

After performing several captivate restarts and a computer restarted I narrowed the issue down to closed captioning.  If I uncheck close captioning in the skin editor, the video preview and published video play fine.  As soon as I “check” closed captioning again, the playbar is broken.

I am at a loss and have no idea how to fix the video.  I need the closed captioning option in the video.  If anyone has any suggestions or ideas of how to fix this please let me know.

Thank you in advance!

Closed Captioning should not do this.

I would suggest you remove the skin from your project and select a totally different skin in Captivate 8 to see if the issue disappears then.  It's possible there is some conflict with the skin originally applied in the earlier Captivate version.

RodWard‌ - thank you for the response.  I have never messed around with the skins.  How do I go about selecting a new skin?

I found the option to change the skin.  Once I did I tested out the preview and it worked.  I then proceeded to publish the video and it plays fine as well.  Thank you so much for your help.
