Problem with multiple correct answers in Drag and Drop slide

Hello again,

I am stuck with a potentially very obvious problem...

I have D&D knowledge check with 3 boxes and 6 answers.

Drop target: 1Drop, 2Drop, 3Drop
Drag objects: 1or2drag (2 objects), 2or3drag (4objects)

As shown in the naming convention I want boxes:
1Drop to accept objects from group 1or2drag
2Drop to accept objects from group 2or3drag and also 1or2drag
3Drop to accept objects from group 2or3drag

So, box 1Drop will always only accept 2 as max.
Box 2Drop might go up to 6.

Box 3Drop can go up to 4.

How do I set this up? Sometimes box 1 or 3 might be empty but it still needs to accept it as correct.
This is my selection. (sorry, it is in German)

All boxes are set to "accept all".

What am I missing? Thank you as always!

German is not a problem, very close to Dutch which is my native language.

You tell that the drop targets are set to Accept All, but the answers you posted show that it is limited to 2 for Drop1 and 4 to Drop2.  There is never a possibility to have 4 in a drop target since you have only 2 drag sources?

I really don't understand what you want, sorry. Give a realistic example please. You may need to duplicate drag sources and create an empty one as well.

Thank you, Lieve,

I think it boils down to this.

Question:

Can two drop target (e.g. 2 boxes) can be set to accept the same answer.

E.g. A "dog" is a "canine" but also "an animal".

So, both targets should be okay for select answers. Is that possible?

So, in my example there are three boxes and 6 drag objects. Two of the drag objects could be put in either box one or two 2 and 4 of the drag objects could be put in either box 2 or 3.

Following that logic you may end up with a box that is empty.

Still don't understand. You can set up as many correct answers as you want.  But I don't see why you allow 4 drag sources to one of the drop targets when you have only two drag sources? My engineer's mind is confused. With two drag sources there are only these possible situations:

  1. 1 drag source in one drop target, the other in the second drop target
  2. Both drag sources go into one drop target, two situations possible
  3. Only 1 drag source goes into one of the drop targets: 4 situations possible

There is no way to ever have more than 2 possible drag sources in the drop targets. You'll  need 1+2+4 correct answers.

Sorry for my confusing explanation.

3 boxes (targets) ;

There 6 sources (objects) that are grouped in 2 groups,

Group 1 with 2 objects can go into either box 1 or 2.

Group 2 has 4 objects and can go into either box 2 or 3.

It seems I need to put in all permutations, right?

Just for clarity, can an object be assigned to 2 boxes? As in both "animal" and "canine".

Do NOT use groups, they are only fitting for very simple situations. I may have used them 1% of the time.

A drag source can have a link to multiple drop targets. You can also stack multiple instances of the same drag source, to allow eventually to have one of them in multiple drop targets. They may be grouped in that case. But the most important is to have the Correct answers set up as you want. That can be very cumbersome.

One last question, am I right aussining that I need to create one "correct answer" for each permutation of the three boxes?

I guess I would need a chart...

It seems that I need 64 different outcomes which seems a bit extreme...

I posted another question on how to do it with Multiple Choice to have an alternative...

Sure, I would not even dream about doing this within the limitations of Drag&Drop.
