Project from MS Powerpoint, Captivate V 9: My background vanishes within a second? (w pictures)

I realize this is a question that may have been addressed before, but never fully answered, at least as far as I could tell. I've been working with Captivate v 9. I haven't had difficulties in the past but  for some reason I can't seem to stop the background from fading to white within the first second for each slide in the deck.

Things I tried:

New Project
New Import (High Fidelity & Everything)
New PPT
Checking Background & Action Settings (Nothing out of the ordinary)

Any help is appreciated!

James,

Your background in the PPT presentation may have had a transition/fade/other effect on it. If it has, it will have been converted to a flash animation which Captivate will be using as the slide background.

Check that out and let us know.

(Why import this from PowerPoint? The slide looks simple enough to create in Captivate?)

Good luck.

Peter

Peter,

The PPT presentation did have animation effects. I removed them, saved the powerpoint, and started a new Captivate project. I'm still having the same issue. I would make them in captivate, but this is a piece of a much larger project, 1000s of slides.

Which theme do you use? Check the Blank master slide: it has to be really Blank, because that is the master slide used for PPT import (and software simulations).

The master slide is blank, and the theme is blank.

Check setup Blank master slide: it should us Master slide background and not show the Main Master slide objects.

The slides are movie slides, should register everything what happened in Powerpoint. Sure there was no transition?

I double checked on the transition, that was my first thought. No change. For now, I figured out a workaround by filling the background with a custom image.
