The properties inspector is cut short on the right and I'm unable to get to the "Character" drop-down menu. I tried enlarging the inspector panel but that doesn't help. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Seems a resolution issue. What is your screen resolution, please? I have no Mac, but on a retina screen on WIndows you can choose to have a larger % for text etc. When it is set too high, similar problems occur with the CP UI.
