Hello out there in Cap Land:
Has anyone experienced a grayed-out button in any Question slides, pots-publish?
This is a new one for me.
I have emptied cache, re-started, and looked for any "arrange" anomolies (there is no out-of-the-box way to bring forward or backward buttons on a Q slide that I can see...).
I have attached a pic of the issue.
If anyone has a solution, kindly post it for myself and other's sakes.
Thank you!

Do you use Pretest slides? Do you have Branch aware checked?

Thank you for the reply.
No pretest slide in this mod. There is a “drag and drop” early-on. The “Next” button is functional – it is just grayed-out upon publishing. Will check branch aware. Many thanks again.

In checking, the branch aware box is/was deselected. Thank you.

Was it checked or not? Sorry, didn't understand your answer. Both Pretest questions and Branch aware will disable navigation.

Maybe it is due to your Quiz settings. What is the Required option set to?
The Next button is normally meant to allow Skipping the question, it has no real sense unless you are in Review mode. To avoid confusion I will always drag the Next button under the Clear button (which you don't have), so that it only appears in Review.

The “Next” button is just to advance to the next slide. “Click anywhere or Next to continue”. It is just used as Continue button – I certainly can hide it, or delete, but odd its grayed-out yet still functional. Thank you.

Lily:
I did not know that “Skip” button was re-named “Next”. You addressed this in a post I found from 2013: “The skip button has a double functionality: during the quiz attempt it is meant to skip the question without answering, during Review it is the Next button. If you do not intend to offer a Review, you can get rid of the Skip button (which has been renamed to Next in CP6). If you want the Review functionality, but do not want the user to skip questions, drag the Skip button under the Clear button. I explained this tweak in one of the posts I pointed to in your other thread.” Your help lives on from two years ago ☺ Thanks.

Yes, it was renamed with CP7 if my memory is correct but still has the same functionality (double). Some articles are still useful, even though they were published 4 years ago, it is just sometimes terminology or UI that changed.
