quiz duplicating on each other

Explorer ,
Dec 18, 2017 Dec 18, 2017

I am starting a quiz and started off with a sequencing slide.  The next slide is going to be a true/false.  The wording from the previous slide is on the true/false slide.  It continues on other slides like it is the master slide.  But the master slide does not show this wording.

What is this?

Which version are you using? Which wording are you referring to? Maybe post a screenshot of the problem? Try showing the 'wording' that is duplicated, and a screenshot of the timeline (to check if you have added custom items). Did you by any chance delete embedded objects (those without an individual timeline)? You checked the 'master' slide: are you talking about the main master slide or the specific quizzing master slide?

I am on the newest version.

I checked the quiz master slide.

I actually didn't do anything.  I started one slide and then added another question and the original question title and wording was showing.   Sequence and "arrange" was in the first slide.  The true/false is the next slide.

Please, can you post a screenshot of the Timeline panel of the questions?

If you didnt change anything to the Quizzing Master slide, and you don't see any extra timelines in the Timeline panel for those question slides, it seems like something is wrong with Captivate. You are working on CP2017. Which theme do you use? You can check that under the Themes button.

The duplicate is the Title container of the quiz slide, it has no Timing as I explained already, because it is an embedded object. Only items with an individual timeline have Timing Properties.

I just started out with a new blank project.  Thank you for all your answers.

You don't have the text objects set to display for rest of project by chance...?

@Stagprime  All text in a default quiz slide is embedded, has no separate timeline, cannot be timed.

That is the reason why I wanted to see a screenshot: only added custom text can be timed, but you are supposed not to add custom text. Morerover all custom objects are behind the embedded objects.

Yeah.

On the off chance that they were adding text boxes on the slide rather than using default placeholders... thought I would ask. I guess it wouldn't that way anyways.

Quiz slide would not work when not using the placeholders, you know that!

I think Stagprime's suggestion has merit and he should not be criticised for offering it.

It's not uncommon for newbie Captivate authors unfamiliar with the way quiz slides and their feedback captions work to add text captions or Smart Shapes to quiz slides and set the timing to Rest of Project by mistake. The quiz slides would still function as normal, but the extra non-quiz-slide objects would become problematic because the added text containers then show up on subsequent quiz slides where they are not wanted.

Let's see whether the original poster confirms this is actually what happened.

I didn't add anything.  Just opened the next slide which was true and false.  See screen shot that I sent to Lilybiri

I don't believe so.  How do I check that?
