Quiz is not cancelling out original scores

New Here ,

I have created my quiz, given the user 3 attempts, and when I am testing my quiz on the LMS, it doesn't give me credit for the second or third attempt where I am mastering the quiz.

Any ideas what Quiz Preferences I haven't checked?

Thanks!

Are those 3 attempts done in the same session? This is the first time I hear something like that happens.

In my 'quiz preferences' I have listed that:

'If failing grade, allow users 3 attempts'.

I have republished the file and every time I take the quiz, it continues to give me the same score as I made the first attempt.

Thanks!

Are you 'reviewing' the quiz in captivate, or leaving the published files and returning back to the LMS?

IMHO, It sounds like you've enabled the 3 trys in Captivate, but you're going past the 'review quiz' button on the quiz results screen without reviewing (which would allow the 3 trys), if so the LMS is simply registering the last score received, which IS your first attempt.

Lilybiri‌, I really think it's time for that quizzing ebook you mentioned, let me know if I can help!

I am viewing the quiz starting at my first quiz slide; now it's not showing me a score at all.  I deleted the quiz slides and inserted new quiz slides, but the original quiz settings remained.  Now, I have no idea what to do, or what direction to take.

Did you keep the functionality of the score slide: Retake button is there? You don't need to have the Review button, but you have to use the Retake button, its functionality is to reset all the question slides, and all the system quizzing variables.

Yes, retake button is on the score slide.  I removed the review button.

Your original post mentioned that you were testing this course on the LMS and seemed to imply that the issue was the LMS was not awarding a higher score achieved in the quiz after the first attempt.  This issue may be due NOT to Captivate but to the way the course is configured in your LMS.

Have you checked the LMS settings to find out whether the LMS is set up to only accept the FIRST score that it receives from the quiz?

Secondly, as with ANY issue encountered with LMSs, it's always wise to try uploading the same content to SCORM Cloud and testing it from there.  You may find that SCORM Cloud LMS behaves exactly as you expect, which would then indicate that the issue is with YOUR LMS, and making wholesale changes to your Captivate module is totally unnecessary.

LATEST

My problem was somewhere in my settings for Project A, I assume.  So, I created a new project (Project B) , added all of my quiz slides to project B, deleted my old quiz slides from project A, and then copied and pasted the quiz slides from project B into Project A.

Because I was adding new quiz slides to Project A, I guess the settings remained on all slides, so I continually had the same problem.

My LMS settings were fine, it was just the quiz slides in Project A that were the problem.

Now, everything is perfect!  Thank you for your help!
