Quiz "Submit" button grayed out on retake after resume

Hello, 

I created a short quiz and have set the ability to retake the quiz on fail. However, I've learned that the submit button will be grayed out if the quiz window is closed and reopened "resumed". This isn't an issue on the first try of the quiz and only when in the retake. 

I am able to move to the next question using the slide navigation, upon review the grayed out submit question shows as no answer chosen in the end. 

Using the newest captivate.

Please can you give the full version number? You find it under Help, About Captivate. There have been already some updates.

Can you also explain what you mean by 'if the quiz window is closed and reopened "resumed"'? Are you talking about a new session after closing a first one?

Version is 12.3.0.12 (on a trial if that makes a difference). 

I am currently testing it in my LMS and using Scorm cloud. 

When I start the quiz, it opens up in a new window.

If I take the test and fail. I've created the option to retake the quiz. 

Once I've hit retake quiz it takes me back to the first question as intended. If I close out of the quiz window and then reopen it. I am back at the first question but the submit button is now grayed out and the only way I can move to the next question is through the slide navigation. The next question is fine with the blue submit button, but if I close out of the quiz window again and then reopen it now question 2 will have the submit button grayed out. 

I then proceed forward to fail again and when reviewing the questions, it will show question 1 and 2 as not being answered.

Just a query:  When you say you "created the option to retake the quiz" do you mean that you selected the option in Captivate 12 quiz settings so that Captivate added the Retake Quiz button (as shown below) or did you add a button of your own and set its action to jump to the first quiz question? 

I just want to confirm that the button is actually the default Retake Quiz button before we try to debug this further, because using anything other than the inbuilt Captivate functionality can lead to all kinds of odd results.

Yes, the default button was used.

That second screenshot seems to point to Review status, not a Retake of the quiz. Are you sure to be on a second quiz attempt, and didn't click by accident on the Review instead of the Retake button?

Thanks for trying to clarify but the video is not telling me more, to me the Submit button is not appearing dimmed at all.

I may have been rushed the gif a little much, but after clicking retake the quiz, the submit button is blue as usual (good)

but after closing and reopening the quiz window, it becomes grayed out

My problem is to understand what you mean by closing and reopening the quiz window? Do you have the quiz in a separate published project, which you call from the main project? I asked that already in my first comment, but didn't see an answer.

Hmm this is a single Scorm quiz with 10 questions. Within the LMS or in Scorm Cloud. When I click the quiz, it opens in a new window. I complete the quiz (fail) and click retake. I then close/exit (X) the window that the quiz was open in. Then click the quiz again to continue the retake and the submit button goes gray.

Why do you close the browser window (or tab), which means you are closing the session before exhausting the attempts on quiz level? Those attempts are meant to be taken in the same session.

Hello, I was able to get a hold of support and it looks like it's a bug. 

"This issue is repro at our end as well in version 12.3. The issue has been reported to the product team and a bug has been logged for the same. Bug No.: CPNXT-21404."

I see what you are saying that the quiz should be taken all in one go, but there may be some instances where someone needs to pick up again where they left off. Like if they have to step out and get timed out or accidentally close the wrong window. Hopefully they fix this soon. Maybe I should move to captivate classic.
