Quiz Result not as expected

New Here ,

Using Captivate Classic I created a quiz. I only want the user to get 1 chance to take it. For some reason when I fail the quiz, it is allowing me to go back into the quiz but opens to question slide 46 of 51 instead of opening to the results page to show the failure message. I tried setting Quiz Preferences to 1 attempt, Action: No Action; Action: Continue; and Action: Jump to slide 51 (the results page) but evey options gives me the same result of opening to question slide 46. I have no idea if this is a Captivate problem or an LMS problem but decided to start here to see if anyone has any thoughts on this.

Can you show screenshots of your Quiz Preferences and of the Advanced Interaction panel (F9)? In the last screenshot make sure to widen the columns which are too small.

To check if the problem is linked to the LMS or Captivate, test the output in SCORM Cloud please.

Is the Results slide the last slide in the project? If yes, please make sure to have at least one extra slide after the Results slide. The actions specified in Quiz Preferences are triggered by the Continue button but executed at the last frame of the results slide. Find some more info in this part of my basic Quiz course:

Yes, the Results  slide is the last slide. Here are the screenshots.

Add a slide after the Results slide.

Reset the field 'Requiredr' to the default setting 'Optional'. The learner needs already to answer each question and this strict Required setting can cause issues.

Total score is 500 points. Even though you choose for Percentage in the criterion, some LMSs have issues when the total score is beyond 100 points. Reduce the number of points for the quiz slides.

On question level you changed the default actions for Success and Last Attempt to 'Go to Next Slide' instead of Continue. In some situations that can also cause problems, it is better to move the pausing point on the quiz slide near to the end of the slide but not completely at the end.

You have a lot of interactions to transfer to the LMS, cannot you use SCORM 2004 which is less limited in data transfer?

Just some ideas of solutions which have helped many of my clients in the past.

Like Lilybiri I would suggest you move to SCORM 2004 (version 3) if at all possible.  Your description of the issue seems to indicate that the LMS has only bookmarked up to a certain question and that is why it is returning you to that point every time you relaunch the module.  SCORM 1.2 has a rather small allowance for Resume Data and this type of issue led to the SCORM developers greatly increasing the Resume Data amount in SCORM 2004.

If your LMS cannot do anything other than SCORM 1.2 other alternative option is to change the settings in Captivate so that a reduced amount of data is sent to the LMS. Take a look at this old post that describes various ways to reduce load on an LMS.  The suggestions are still valid.

Thanks for the heads up! My suspicion was confirmed, due to the amount of data to transfer to the LMS in this project SCORM 1.2 was too limited.
