Quiz Results Slide Won't Advance

New Here ,

Hi eLearning Community,

I haven't used Captivate in many years and have figured out how to use version 9 with the exception of one issue.  The Quiz Results slide reports the score accurately but I cannot get the slide to advance when clicking on the Continue button.  I cannot delete this button and I've tried to add a new button but I don't have the button option available.  Can someone help?  Thanks.

The Continue button on the score slide is as essential as the Submit button on question slides. When clicked the actions specified in Quiz Preferences, Pass or Fail, will be executed.  What did you set up there? Is there a slide after the Score slide? What do you want to happen when passing the grade, when failing the grade.

As for the button: the only interactive object allowed on a score or question slide is a shape button. More info:

Thanks so much for the information.  There are several slides after the Score slide.  I didn't realize until you addressed it in your reply that I needed to set up the pass/fail options and that I could select the user's path for both.

I made the changes and it worked!

Thanks again!

I tried to explain the design of question and score slides in this old post, without any doubt the most visited one on my blog:

Question Question Slides in Captivate - Captivate blog

Some workarounds explained in that article are now superfluous. Confusion between Skip and Next is no longer possible in Captivate 9 because of the new Review navigation buttons.

Thanks for your help!

I went back and checked and I had no action checked off in quiz preferences.  Should I select continue or go to the next slide, as there are additional slides after the Score slide?

Yes, you should choose the action 'Go to Next Slide' or keep the default action 'Continue' for both Pass and Fail. Difference is that Continue will have the playhead playing throughout the inactive part of the score slide (default duration = 1.5secs), which will not happen with 'Go to Next Slide'.
