Responsive Project Preview Does not open in browser

I'm using Adobe Captivate 10 (2017 Release) working on a responsive project (Following along in Lynda.com "Adobe Captivate 2017 Essential Training").  The only preview option that works is Preview in Scorm Cloud.  All other options simply open Adobe Illustrator.  Illustrator just sits there on a blank page and I cannot preview the project.

I'm assuming I just need to change the default app for opening whatever the preview file happens to be to my browser (Chrome).  The help article simply explains where the preview button is, and does not attempt to help in any other way.

I have seen a few discussions with similar problems with the preview function but none of them have a solution.

Thanks for your help

Jeremiah

For responsive projects a temporary HTML5 output folder is created for Preview and will be opened in the browser that you set as Default Browser. Can you check if you have a Default Browser set up?

Thank you for your response.  Understanding how the preview function worked helped me find a solution.

I did have Chrome set as my default browser, but found that Chrome was only default for .html files.  I had to select .htm (please see screenshot). for the preview function to start working.Default Programs.JPG

That is very weird because htm files are only used for SWF projects, never for responsive projects which are always HTML5.

I have no idea why this solution worked.  I only know that Illustrator (The program originally opening the previews) was selected for .htm file types.  Simply changing Chrome to open .htm fixed it in my case.

Thanks for your help.
