Retry message on drag and drop quiz question

I am creating a scored quiz using Captivate 9. I want to include a drag and drop question. There are 2 objects that can be dragged and 2 areas they can drop them to. One object needs to be dragged to one and the other needs to be dragged to the other area. There will also be other drop spots which are incorrect.

I want to give them 3 attempts. If they get it wrong twice then I want a retry message to appear and if they get it wrong on their 3rd attempt then I want an incorrect message to appear and then move to the next question.

The drag and drop question only has a success and failure message. I have been trying to get variables and advanced actions to create this but having no luck. Can anyone help please?

Yes I have seen this article and tried using it but it says that it is for knowledge check slides and what I am creating is part of a quiz. Will this still work if it ticked to be included in the quiz?

No, you'll need a workaround if the D&D is validated. Try the work flow explained in this article:

Report Custom Questions - part 2 - Captivate blog

You'll have to combine that with what I explained in the first blog post. All my tutorials are free on my blog. At this moment I don't have time to write out the work flow for the combination, it would take me quite a couple of hours, have to earn some money as well.
