Hi
ive normally set my projects custom is 1024x768. these projects are demos and I'm needing to display my full desktop. These look great on monitors. However we have lots of users now using laptops on dimensions 1366x768. When the projects are viewed on these laptops with these dimensions the user does not see full area and needs to scroll up and down to see demo.
Any ideas what is best size to creare a demo for desktop showing on a 1366x768 screen. I'm hitting a wall.
thanks in advance.

You have to take into account the real estate taken up by the browser or the LMS environment. You could use an application like Size to see the exact height needed for that. Moreover, if you use a playbar it will add also to the height, minimum 15 pixels (depends on the playbar you choose). Subtract the px needed by the browser/LMS from 768 and that will be the height you can use for the demo project.

For most of my projects the predefined size of 1024 by 627 works well. With this size, the project fits nicely on a desktop computer but also on most tablets.
The iPad for instance has a resolution of 1024 by 768, so by creating a slightly smaller project (of 1024 by 627), you leave some room for the extra-real estate that the playbar might take.
This, of course, is not taking into account the real estate that the LMS needs to display its own stuff. Personally, I use the Moodle LMS and I have my SCORM content open in a pop-up window whenever possible, so i can take advantage of more screen real estate.
I hope it helps...

There is no perfect answer. With all the different aspect ratios and resolutions you might be working with, it would be impossible to have a single solution to this question - not to mention users may have different scaling selected and they may have decided to install other non conventional browsers and various other toolbars like Yahoo, MSN or just the bookmarks toolbar built into most browsers.
I set one of my monitors at 1366 x 768 and went to How Big Is My Browser? with the three browsers on my system. Here are the results:
Chrome: 1366 x 667
Edge: 1366 x 651
IE: 1366 x 673
If I was in your shoes I would select 1366 x 651 and publish with HTML5 scaling to have the demo fill the screen as best as possible, but tomorrow a new tablet, device or browser will get launched with different resolutions and aspect ratios and your course will be made obsolete by it. Pick something that seems about right and get some sleep when you go to bed at night. This minutia can drive you nuts.
