Hi there!
I'm brand new to Captivate and setting up on of my first quizzes.
One of the questions is a "Select 5 correct answers" type of question. There are 11 answer choices, 9 correct and 2 incorrect. I need the quiz to report "correct" as long as 5 of the 9 correct answers are selected and none of the incorrect answers are selected.
I know I can check "multiple answers" in the Quiz panel, but that seems to require all 9 correct answers be selected.
How do I set the number of required correct answers?

This is not something you could achieve with the default MCQ question, sorry. It can be done by creating a custom question, using standard objects, variables and advanced actions. Not really stuff for a new Captivate user I'm afraid. Do you have some programming skills? I can describe several possible work flows, but wonder if you would be able to understand the description.

Thanks, but I haven't programmed in a very long time so I probably wouldn't be able to understand it well enough to implement it.
However I was able to approximate the result within acceptable parameters by using partial scoring and penalties for incorrect answers.

It could be a workaround, be sure to do extensive testing when using partial scoring and penalties.
I would be happy to help you with a more trustworthy solution, maybe later on when you feel more comfortable with Captivate
