I am trying to create a simulation however the mouse click doesn't work. I'm using C9. I'm running as Admin. Has anyone had this problem and if so how was it resolved?
Thanks.
Some applications are not captured that well. Anyway I would propose to capture immediately in 3 modes (Demo, Training and Assessment).

Did you choose the correct mode:.training or assessment?

I was working with Demo and it always worked for me in the past but not now, well not with the program I'm using.

Maybe I misunderstood, thought you didn't get click boxes which are only added in Training or Assessment mode, not in demo mode. What is really not working, and which application are you capturing? If you want a passive video demo, did you try Video Demo creator included with Captivate?

I've been creating videos using Captivate 9. When I capture simulations, the mouse click works and I get a screen shot. I'm in demo mode when I'm doing that. The application I'm trying to capture is called New Vector, which you probably have not heard of. So if you can help, that would be amazing!!

Hi Lilybiri,
That worked for all three. Thank you so much!!
I wonder why it didn't work for just Demo. Anyway, I'm happy and can now pass this information on to my co-worked.

Not sure it was solved by that, maybe you were just out of luck first time. I like to capture all, it is possible to mix slides later on.

What was solved was that when I selected all three, instead of just Demo, it seemed to capture the screen shots when I clicked the mouse. Strange as that may be.

Is there a work-around to this? I am trying the training/assessment function for the first time and when done with PowerPoint there is no issue, however when I try on another software that my company uses, there are absolutely no camera clicks. I would love to be able to use this function to help teach users where to click on the software in a simulated environment.

Did you try manual screenshots?

Manual screen capture is NOT where you click the mouse, it's where you hit the PrintScreen key to force Captivate to take a screen capture because it wasn't detecting your mouse click on the software.
There are some types of applications that Captivate finds difficult to 'hear' when you are trying to do automatic capture. So you have to resort to listening carefully for the camera shutter sound, and if you don't hear it when you should, then you step in and manually hit the PrintScreen key (or whatever key you have set it to) so that you don't miss capturing the step.

Thanks, good tip on the "Print screen" button. Still not exactly the same as how it worked with Power Point, but at least I have a workaround now.

I just started at a new company and am using Captivate on a new computer. For some reason it's really struggling to pick up any mouse clicks during software simulations. It's not detecting any in PowerPoint or Chrome, and in Word it only detects maybe a third. Could it have something to do with my mouse settings?
