Slide master buttons with icons

I created some buttons using SVG icons but when I paste the buttons into the slide master the icons are gone. When I try to create the button in master slide view I'm  not seeing the option to change states anymore.

I'm new to Captivate and still trying to orientate myself. Thanks for your help!

Oh no, it is a Fluid Boxes project, which makes it a lot more complicated with SVGs as buttons! Is the shape button in an individual fluid box and what is its setup? It is the only situation where the SVG can behave strangely (fluid box).
