software simulation does not record in Captivate 9

When I try to create a software simulation, it records blank screens, see below, my keys (End to stop or f9/f10) also do not work. Can you help???

Have tried clearing cleanpreferenceWin.bat file, changing cache and project files to local drive, nothing works. Thanks, S

Are you running Captivate using Run As Administrator privilege?

Hi Rob,

I created a software simulation last week and it recorded fine. I

This issue just started yesterday…I add a slide software simulation, none of the keys work the screen is blank, except for a few text boxes.

I am not running it as an Admin privilege.

Please advise.

When you start Captivate without that option 'Run as Administrator' you'll get a warning, and especially Capturing needs this setup, at least if you are on a Win PC.

Hello,

My IT team looked into this and it wasn’t the ‘Run as Admin’ option. It still didn’t work as an Admin.

They think perhaps it is a corrupt file. Previous versions with software simulations I created appeared on the screen. Maybe this one file was corrupt – I even created software sims in a new project and tried to copy over to the original project, but the simulation screens were blank when I cut and paste. I ended up creating a new project with the software simulations, and cut/pasting from the previous original project – although I had to manually go into every screen and adjust them as not everything was copied over intact.

If you know of anything else that could’ve led to my issue, please let me know.
