Hello,
I am having an issue with the software simulation. I used to be able to record a software simulation in automatic mode, and Captivate would create a slide for every click or typing I would make. Now, anytime I do record, Captivate only creates slides when I type. If I select manual mode, it records when I tell it to capture the screen. Is there a setting that I need to check to get the recording the way I use to have it?
Thank you!

Can you please tell which exact version your are using. I need the full version number which can be found under Help, About Captivate. Are you on Mac or Windows?
When did this behavior change? Do you hear the camera click sounds?

Hi Lilybiri,
I am using Windows 10 Pro, Adobe Captivate Basic (it used to be Captivate 2019, but changed after installing the update to the version I am using) 11.8.2.254.
The behavior changed at the end of June. I used Captivate at the beginning of the year for a couple of projects, and every mouse click created a slide while doing a software simulation. When I went to start a new project in June, it did not work as it did before. I only hear the camera clicks when I type or when I hit the End key to finish the capture. If I do a manual capture, I hear it the camera capture sound.

It seems to be a bug which has been reported multiple times already for this version 11.8.2 which indeed was released at the end of June. I have not double-checked it, still keep 11.5.5 on a system because that was a very stable version, and no problems with sims. Do you run Captivate as Administrator?

I can't because of IT rules. Is there a way to downgrade to 11.5.5?

You should convince the IT people, you only need this for Captivate, and you'll avoid a lot of problems certainly for capturing. I have really no idea if you can downgrade, sorry.

I'll try with IT, but I don't think it will work 🙂 thank you!
