Tablet caption text doesn't update when changed on desktop view?

I searched the forum, and I can't find anything on this.

I'm using break point mode for responsive design (as these files were developed a couple years ago, and we've got hundreds of slides) and many times when I edit the text on the desktop view, the tablet portrait view does not update. Other times when I edit the text in the desktop view, the tablet portrait view updates. I've just lived with this fact for a while, and edited the text manually in both places when it pops up. But I'm wondering if this is a bug? Or if there is a fix? It's pretty time consuming.

I'm using Captivate 2017, but with older responsive files that cannot be converted to fluid boxes or anything like that.

However the second part of this equation is, I've given the English Captivate files to a translation company, and they've translated the files into nine languages. They used the XML export feature to translate it, assuming that all text in the Captivate file would be in the XML file. However on the tablet portrait view in many places, the English still remains, but the desktop got translated fine. We've searched the XML file for English text that remains, but it's not in the XML. It's a little late to try the Word export since the translation is completed, and it also takes a hundred times longer then the XML export/import. The amount of time to manually fix 9 captivate files with a couple hundred slides would be unthinkable at this point. Anyone?

Can you check with the right-click menu on text that is not updated to tablet for the option 'Apply text to All Views'?

I just actually came across that from searching. That is an option, but exponentially that's 100 slides, an average of a couple to a dozen text captions on every slide, times 6 languages (sorry not 9). That's a lot of right clicking.

Shouldn't the text just update on it's own? And why isn't it not showing up in the XML?

I understand, but this the consequence of the original development which didn't honor the fact that interitance of objects is top-down. Apparently for some text containers, they were not added in the primary view but in one of the lower breakpoints. That is probably also what causes the XML problems as well. Honestly, I don't know of another way to fix this user 'bug'.

I would never add text to a lower breakpoint. I always add them to the primary view and then look at the other views later. I always work under the premise that inheritance is top down. I've been doing so for many years. But it seems like a bug if when I add text to primary, later on when it gets changed in the primary it doesn't update in the tablet. Or am I missing something? I've been dealing with this for awhile on my own with just English and having to change it in both places at times (Primary Desktop, then Tablet).

Normally that means that the link between the higher and the lower view has been broken.
