Text to Speech

I am using Adobe Captivate 9.  Installed the voices and am able to add the text to speech slides.  My issue is that sometimes the audio works when previewing the project and other times the audio is cut off or doesn't work at all. Has anyone experienced any issues with text to speech?

Hi,

Can you post a screenshot of your Timeline along with the audio?

Also, mention the version number of your Captivate e.g. is it 9.0.0.223 or 9.0.0.230 or 9.0.1.320?

Thanks,

Mohana

Try this:

With the TTS audio generated, drag it to the right in the timeline to add two seconds to the slide.

Then, drag it back one second. This should add a one-second gap to the slide as a silent intro and exit.

Republish and report back!

You can also use vtml code to add time to your narration.  For example, at the end of the narration type in <vtml_pause time="1000"/>  You can use a different value than 1000.  The unit of measurement is milliseconds.  The down side to this is if you are going to use close captioning you'll have to add the line again without the vtml code and once you've recorded the line with vtml code then check the box on the line without vtml code to be the closed captioning.

There is an actual users guide put out by neospeech that gives other codes you can use to make the speakers sound more human.

The problems I have had with audio has to do with the play head position. If its not at the first frame it wont play all of the audio.

Thank you all for the replies.  I contacted Adobe and they advised me to download and reinstall the Adobe Captivate 9 voices again.  Worked and the issue was resolved.
