The Default Theme in Captivate 9

Contributor ,
Dec 11, 2016 Dec 11, 2016

I would like to get back my original "out-of-the-box" Captivate 9 default theme.  (i.e. the theme you see when you first start the program.)

How can I restore this?

I think I may have deleted some objects inadvertently.

Hi,

Follow these steps to get the default set of themes back:

1. If Captivate is open, close it.

2. On a Windows machine, navigate to this folder:C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Layouts

For Mac, go to the Documents/My Adobe Captivate Projects/Layouts

3. Rename 9_0 folder to something else.

4. Start Captivate 9.

A new 9_0 folder will be created and you'll get the default themes back.

Let me know if this helps!

Regards,

Pooja

The default Theme in Captivate 9 is White, are you pointing to that theme?

Pooja pointed out how you can refresh the Layouts folder, by restoring a new copied folder from the original folder in the Public Documents. If you only want to replace the White theme, where you probably are talking about having customized the master slides without saving those changes as a custom theme, you can also just copy the White theme from that original folder in the installation folder of Captivate to the Layouts folder in the Public Documents. Maybe I already offered you this link, explaining the content of a theme:

As for the location of a lot of folders that can be customized in Captivate, and have to be refreshed whenever you install a patch or a new version, have a look at:
