The "stage" in Adpbe captivate 8, as you call it, became undocked and disappeared.  HOW DO I GET IT BACK???  I cannot find a command on any menu.  I have the TimeLine, the Filmstip, the properties group, but the LARGE gray are in the center the "STAGE" area is empty, blank, just gray, it does not have the background and all the objects for the selected filmstip.  HOW DO I GET IT BACK????  Thx.

Try pressing Ctrl+0 (Zero)

Does that bring it back?

Try Ctrl-0 or another zoom command. It is not 'undocked' it just moved out of focus, a very annoying thing. You can also move it back with the scrollbars, but if you were not in 'Bext fit4 ;ode CTRL=0 will move it back
