My Adobe Captivate 8 was working fine last week up until it prompted me to start a trial version. I do not understand this, why would I want to run a trial version when my version is licensed? Usually a pop up window appears asking me to license my product, that window has disappeared completely. Whenever I publish my file a small dialogue box appears telling me that I have to buy captivate 9 and continue my trial version. where do I put my working serial number to end this?
I only have 13 days left until my "trial" version expires and I have important files that will expire as well. I can't chat with adobe as well.

I am just a user, not from Adobe. Are you talking about a perpetual license, which needs a serial number? You should be able to check your account in that case, use the same Adobe ID which you used when buying the license.

My Adobe Captivate 8 isn't included in my creative cloud application.
I just need that pop up window so that I can enter my serial number.
The program isn't even notifying me of the number of days left before the whole thing expires.

Captivate has a subscription license as well, which is not part of the Creative Cloud. That is the reason I was asking about it. Do you confirm to have a perpetual license, which seems to be the case because you talk about a serial number?
Did you check your Adobe account?

Hi,
Would you be able to please try launching Captivate and then click Help menu and choose Sign In. You should see the Sign In screen and use your Adobe ID to sign in. Incase you do not have a subscription, then it would prompt you to enter the serial number.
Please try this and let me know incase the issue persists.

I tried that earlier actually. I was able to sign in already but it didn't prompt me to enter my serial number.
I was hoping that I didn't need my serial no. anymore since captivate didn't ask me for it but whenever I try to publish a file to my desktop or wherever, a dialogue box suddenly appears telling me that my file will expire in a few weeks.
Where will I be able to enter my serial number for it to be validated?

Thanks for trying that. Did you ever had a Captivate subscription (may be before you moved to serial number license) under this Adobe ID that you are using to sign in?
Would you be able to try doing a Sign Out from the same Help menu. Then, click again on Help and select Updates to install all available updates specially for the Adobe Application Manager aka Adobe CC desktop App. Once done, then try to Sign In again.
Incase it still fails, let me know.

I figured it out already.
We re-installed Captivate 8.0 instead.
It asked me for my Adobe log in and serial number.
The issue has been resolved.
