Good Morning,
I feel like I'm going a bit crazy, but my timeline seems to not be playing until the very end.
Usually I would think that I had accidentally inserted an item that 'paused' mid timeline, but I can't find anything like that.
My 'Next' button for the page below is set to appear after 1:40? ish seconds, after a timer widget has run its course.
Instead, the timer widget just sits on 0:00 and the next button doesn't appear at all.
Has anyone has an issue similar to this with Adobe Captivate 10.0.0.193?
If you can see that I've done something dumb in the timeline below, please let me know.
Michelle
I think I might have figured out my problem. I've just tested the learning TWICE and it's working, going to test a few more times JUST to make 100% sure (there are multiple videos so I want to ensure the timeline plays all the way through for all of them)
When I added the audio, I also added a 'Narration on / off' button to the learning. The button was set to 'appear across rest of project' BUT it also had a pause attached to it at 51 seconds (which I didn't realise was there)
I've just removed t

Are you testing this AFTER publishing and uploading to a webserver or LMS? If not, try that first.

Yes - the version I'm testing is packaged as a SCORM and uploaded in our LMS.
Within Captivate it seems to play.

Take out the Timer interaction and then test publish again to see if the issue remains. If not, get rid of the Timer and try inserting a new one. It's possible you may need to update the Learning Interactions in your project.

I'll give it a go - the strange this is that it was working perfectly fine until I added audio, then all of a sudden it's mucked up. Will let you know how I go.

I took out the widget and it seemed to play until the end after I published it on our LMS. Then, I added a new timer widget / interaction in, and the timeline seemed to stop again - so the next button didn't load.
Any ideas why this would happen?
I really want to keep the widget in the eLearning if possible - I'm not sure why adding audio in would have had any impact on this but it seems as if it has - all worked fine until I added a short audio clip in.

I have tried to replicate your issue with a Timer Learning Interaction in Captivate 2017 but cannot see it happening at my end.
What version of Captivate are you using?
How long since you updated your learning interactions?

So, I've just tried publishing the file with a timeline so that I can see whether the project really is playing.
The first time I watched the page through, the timeline seemed to pause after 30 seconds or so. The second time (I just navigated back and forward to the page again) - the whole thing played through! The third time, it paused again.
Keep in mind the widget worked totally fine, the timeline worked perfectly, all up until I added audio.
I'm using Captivate 10.0.0.193
I actually wasn't aware that you had to update your learning interactions - I've had Captivate 2017 since early this year so my interactions shouldn't be too outdated.

They get updated silently most of the time and you will see that reflected in a small banner displayed across the ones that have been updated since you last looked.
However, if you happen to be in a corporate network situation sometimes these silent updates get blocked and you need to have someone with full Admin Privileges log onto your PC in order to get them.
The original learning interaction files that got installed with Captivate are stored down in the Program Files directory with Captivate in the Gallery folder. But there are COPIES of these Learning Interactions in another folder buried in the Public User Profile here:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Interactions_10_0
Its these copies of the Learning Interactions that you are actually seeing when you open the Learning Interactions dialog in Captivate.
To force an update, you need to go into the folder where the copies are and delete them all then reboot Captivate again. When it sees the copies are missing it will go to the Adobe website and download the latest versions.
It's possible that your issue might be resolved by updating the Timer Learning Interaction. It makes no sense to me that just adding audio would cause your issue. There has to be some kind of conflict going on. The Timer learning interaction is just a static widget and should not be pausing the timeline unless there is either something wrong with the widget (e.g. corrupted file) or else there is something about your slide that we haven't discovered yet (e.g. slide is corrupted).

I've just removed the 'pause' on the narration on / off button which I added in at the same time that I added the audio in to the eLearning (I didn't make the connection AT ALL).
Now the timeline seems to be playing just fine.
What a silly (but easy) mistake to make!!!
So the pause must reset for every slide that the button appears on, because the timeline was pausing for all of the slides that had a timer, but now appears to be working.
Thank you SO much for all of your help. I think that removing that pause might have fixed it. Will let you know if for some reason it mucks up again.

Oooookaaaay! Now THAT makes sense. I was not expecting you to have a button set for Rest of Project with a pause point set at such a long time. The conundrum now makes sense. That button was the missing piece of the puzzle.

It is really useful information to know that the interactions update - I am on a government network so naturally, everything is outdated. I will definitely keep that in mind for future should interactions go funny in future.
