Timing effects look wonky when previewing a project

Hi all again,

There's something wrong with my timing effects for my quiz slides. They are aligned right and when you just simply preview a slide within Captivate everything looks fine but as soon as I preview in HTML5 in a browser or on the SCORM cloud everything goes wonky.

This is how the slide ends up when I set him to ease up in the timing effects.

After you click on an option and press "SUBMIT" (still haven't figured out how to change having to click the SUBMIT button twice to move to the next slide, it's incredibly counter-intuitive) the rest of the objects and text boxes jut up into their correct positions, see below;

Strangely enough the difference with how high up the objects move are much worse when previewing on the SCORM cloud or previewing it in HTML5 on a browser than if you do a standard preview on a browser using Flash, I presume.

Anybody got any ideas what's going on?

I can see your Slide pausing at 1.5 seconds as per the Timeline. Since the end of your effect and the pause is overlapping, this maybe why you are seeing some sort of shift or jerkiness.

I suggest decreasing your effect time to perhaps 1.3 or 1.4 seconds or lower; OR you could try increasing the slide pause timing from 1.5 to 2 or 3 seconds (at least a few milliseconds after your effect is over)

Can you try that and see if it helps?

Thanks,

Mohana

The first click on the Submit button is to show the feedback caption for Success or Failure.  The second click anywhere on the slide is to dismiss the feedback caption and execute whatever action is set for those two result.  (You don't actually have to click the Submit button itself for the second click.  You should just be able to click anywhere.)

Can you post a screenshot of your Timeline?

Can you also mention the duration of your effects as well as at what time your slide pauses?

Thanks,

Mohana

Hi Mohana,

Here's an image of my timeline.

Screen Shot 2016-03-21 at 07.20.33.png

The effect I'm using in Ease In Top and it lasts for 1.5 seconds. This is done for all pieces (with the exception of the table, that's me messing around and trying to put a table in) and according to my timeline my slide pauses at 3 seconds.

Thanks,

Thank you Mohana!

It runs very smooth now! 🙂

Now if only you could solve all my other problems I'm having with Captivate...
