I have downloaded the trial version of Captivate 9 and hopefully my company is going to be making the purchase in the next few days. Until then, I'm just exploring and making myself familiar with the new changes since 5.5(yeah its been a while).
I don't see the Add Effect (fx) button below the timeline that I see in online tutorials. Is this not included in the trial version? I have added things to the timeline in the master view for some of my slides and want to add animations to some of the graphics layers....but there is no Add Effect options.
Is the trial version the exact same as the full?
Thanks

Hello,
I never missed (and I have a licensed version) it because I always use the right-click menu on the object in the timeline to Apply Effect to that object. Effects are now in the Timing panel. Maybe because I never watched a tutorial
The trial version is exactly the same as the paid version, only restriction is that published files will expire in 30(? not totally sure) days.

Ok, it seems that you can't apply effects to graphics in the master templates. I was hoping to apply animations to the layout graphics each time a new slide was loaded by adding the animations to the masters. That's unfortunate.
Do you know how to apply animations to each slide upon entry and exit? For example, when they move on to the next slide, have it animate out and the next slide animate in?

Master slides have no real timing for any object, reason why you cannot apply Effects that are always timed.
Will animating layout graphics not become very boring? Sorry, that is my teacher background because I don't see how this can improve learning efficiency at all.
Maybe you are looking for slide transitions? You don't need master slides for that. You have different Slide transitions in the Timing panel for slides. Again, I don't think this is improving the learning experience. You seem to confuse a presentation tool with an eLearning tool, where interactivity will engage learners, not transitions.
