Hello
I am very new to Captivate. And I am using Captivate 8. I have a basic question regarding trimming few portion from a slide of my project. My project is creating video for a software simulation. (I searched an answer for this, but all the answers are referring to Captivate 6 or earlier versions. The solutions mentioned in those are not valid in Captivate 8 as the UI itself is different and I am not able to find many of the options (like FMR edit and all) .)
The problem is, even though I can play a slide and control it using the Timeline view, I am not seeing an option to edit/trim it. In my particular case, I want to delete a portion which appears towards the end of the slide. Could some one please guide me regarding this

UI change was meant to make it easier
First question: are you talking about a Video demo project (extension of file is cpvc) or a normal cptx project?

Mine is a normal cptx project.

OK. In that cptx-project are you talking about FMR slides? They are still recognizable at a camera icon in the Filmstrip, and a red line in the center of the slide timeline in the Timeline panel. The edit options are under the tab Options:
Personally I try to avoid FMR-slides, and replace them by CPVC slides because the quality is much better and those cpvc (Video Demo) videos have a dedicated Video editor with a lot more options than the simple old FMR-slides. It is more work, you have to stop the software simulation capture, to create the video demo slide, it is not automatic.

The problem is, I don't have this option (FMR Edit Options) at all.
Please note that I created project file is that of a software simulation. So I have basically few slides/film strips. My edit will be on these individual slides.

Maybe it is not a FMR-slide. I told you how to recognize such a slide. If you cannot figure it out, please post a screenshot of the timeline of such a slide, and tell me exactly what you want to do. For a normal slide this is not trimming at all, just changing duration of the slide.

I placed my project file after removing irrelevant slides at trim_query.zip - Google Drive
If you play this slide (using timeline option) you can see that towards the end of the video color changes for a drop-down box. This drop-down box is indicated using an arrow for our reference here.
I want to trim parts of the slide what ever appears after this color change.

Sorry, please post a screenshot of the timeline. For security and other reasons I never open a file from another user. If you want help, and do not understand my questions (about identifying the slide as FMR or not), please post that screenshot. You have to use the camera icon in the tool bar:
