Unable to publish Captivate 9 project to my computer or as a SWF file

I created a quick course in Captivate 9. When I try to publish the course, I only get 4 options - none of which are usable for my team.

  • Publish for Devices
  • Publish for Devices (App)
  • Publish to Adobe Connect
  • Publish to Adobe Captivate Prime

I need to be able to publish to my computer as a SWF file, but none of the Publish Settings allow me to make that change.

Are you perhaps building a responsive course?

SWF is not an option for responsive output.

You are definitely creating a responsive course, when we see your publish options.

Flash player needed for playing SWF has disappeared from mobile browsers since several years. For that reason there has never been a possibility to publish a responsive project to SWF. Soon the Flash Player will also disappear from the desktop browsers. Support ends end of this year. Why do you need that deprecated output?
