Do you have administrator rights? That is essential, to allow replacement of the AdobeCaptivate.ini file in the installation folder of Captivate.

This is my work flow in most cases because you'll have to switch back to the original file to have Captivate adapting to your retina screen when working with the application after you've finished the capturing.

  1. Close Captivate and find the AdobeCaptivate.ini file in the installation folder of Captivate
  2. Create a copy of that file to another location (I put it mostly on the desktop, but that is up to you)
  3. Open the file with Notepad (not with a text processor like Word) and change the line where you find the DpiAwareness to have the value 1 instead of 0
  4. Save the file with its original name
  5. Rename the original file in the Captivate installation folder, so that it is easy to put it back to replace again the modified file, maybe AdobeCaptivateDPI0.ini
  6. Copy the modified file (with the original name) to the installation folder

Now you should be able to launch Captivate and start capturing. When you have finished, close Captivate, rename the modified file to Adobe CaptivateDPI1.ini, save it, and rename again the original file to AdobeCaptivate.ini.

Hello,

I am experiencing the same issue. I don't understand why it was working fine for months - and now there is this issue. What is the trigger for it? Regarding Step One of your solution:

1. Close Captivate and find the AdobeCaptivate.ini file in the installation folder of Captivate

Can you please help me to find that file. This is installation folder:
