Video image too big for slide

Hi

As a newbie to embedding video files I would really appreciate some help.   I use Adobe Connect to deliver Webinars, some of which need to be recorded to use as a training resource - the Webinar file is saved as an MP4 file via the Connect application and then embedded into a captivate project. We are currently using captivate 7. Everything displays lovely until publishing. After publishing, the image of the video is too large for the slide - it over hangs on all sides. Have tried changing the resolution to make it smaller before embedding/publishing but this impairs the quality too much.  Some of our projects have been successful and some not - but I cannot find any common process that would link the unsuccessful ones together.  It has been suggested that resolution and bit rate may be causing our issue but not sure what we need to do to correct this or if I should set this at the start? I am still learning about the technical requirements so would appreciate any advice.

many thanks!
