I am new to Captivate 9. I am trying to sync on screen animations with a video of someone speaking in the corner. i cannot get the animations to sync with the video. Is there a trick or setting i must use?
Any info will help.
Thanks,
Dawn

What is your work flow now? And what do you mean by 'screen animations'?

We will have a video in the corner of the screen, as the person is talking we will have animations on screen to represent what the person in the video is saying at that time. We can not get the video and the on screen animations to sync up. I am not sure how else to explain.

OK, maybe someone else understands what you mean by 'screen animation'. Are those effects, objects staggered on the timeline, inserted video, HTML animations?

If i have someone in a video talking about how to make a sandwich, on screen next to the video will be the animation on how to make a sandwich. you would see the bread appear on screen as the person in the video says "you need bread". Then a piece of cheese fades in as the person in the video says cheese.
Does that help explain?
thanks

You need to insert the video as "Multi-Slide Synchronized Video". Then choose the "Modify slide duration to accommodate video" radio button.
This is supposed to synch the video with the timeline.

TLCMediaDesign‌ I am not sure, but think the OP wants the reverse way: how to sync on objects appearing on the slide with the video inserted? It is pretty vague...

That's what I think also Lieve. But the only way to do that with any accuracy is to insert the video the way I described. If it's event video, they would never be able to accurately time anything to the video since the timelines are independent of each other.

Totally agree, David, I almost never use event video.
