What are the limits for number of slides and number of frames.

We are developing hefty e learnings and are talking about 200 or so slides for some modules.

I am a little concerned as I think that even our LMS has its limits to serving file sizes.

But as a matter of setting some boundaries. I would like to know what are the limits for -

The number of frames on a captivate slide?

The number of frames in a captivate module?

I think you may be approaching this the wrong way.  You should aim to keep your slides short, but up to a minute or so is quite acceptable.  Above 2 minutes tends to get unwieldy in my experience. But you are unlikely to reach the theoretical limit of the number of possible frames on a single slide because that is actually several thousand frames.  You keep slides short for ease of maintenance mostly.

If your LMS has upload size limits that's going to be your FIRST thing to consider, but whether or not you will breach that will depend not so much on the NUMBER of slides in your project but what is ON those slides.

Do you know how long your playing time is for these modules?  If so, and your content has graphics, text, and audio voiceover, then you'll need to allow around 500kb - 1 megabyte of filesize for each minute of playing time.  (Whether its the higher or lower figure depends mostly on the quality of your audio.)  So if you already have 200 slides in your project, you may already be over that limit.
