What has happened in version 9.0.0.223 quiz properties

New Here ,

In responsive projects you add question slide you can not edit question title text fonts. The properties window does not have character properties function. The only way to open them is to create a new project (not responsive) and add a question slide. Then the functionality appears to your project.

Also the responsive project acts very strangely. If you add for example buttons to the project they tend to fly away when clicking them with your mouse.

I have to say that we are not very pleased to Captivate 9. It has too many bugs.

Harri

Please install the hotfix: Hot fix | Adobe Captivate 9 issues

That should take care of the flying buttons.

As for responsive project, text fonts, I never heard about that issue at all. I just checked in a new responsive project, and I do see the font list in the Properties window for all text containers on quiz slides. Although I would recommend to keep to websafe fonts, and never edit the fonts in the individual quiz slides, but to edit the Object Styles for Quizzing objects in the Object Style Manager.

If the hotfix is not solving your problems, I would recommend to clear the Preferences.

Hi,

Thank you for your quick reply. When there will be an official update version? We are running Captivate in win and in Mac computers and the hotfix would not be an option because the win users don’t have permissions to their computers.

Here is a print screen from my project. This problem occurred few days ago. I haven’t checked earlier version numbers. But as you can see from the screenshot that the title is selected but you can’t change the font. The only way to get the functionality is to open a new project. Very strange.

You cannot attach a file to an answer, you can only insert a screenshot using the still camera icon in the browser version of the forum.

I'm not working for Adobe, have no idea when a patch will be released.

Cannot you check the Quizzing Object styles in the Object Style Manager? Can you clean the Preferences? Close Captivate and use the CleanPreferences file according to your OS which you can find in the subfolder Utils of the installation folder of Captivate. Of course, this also requires administration rights for Captivate.

Does this mean that you are not running Captivate as administrator? That will limit its functionality, it is a requirement for Windows users.

Here is a screenshot about the case. As you can see the title is selected but it will not update the properties window unless I open a new project and add a quiz question to this newly created project.

That is why I asked you to clean the Preferences, because my version is showing all the Properties (I am on Windows, not on Mac). But did you check the Object style for the Quizzing objects in the Object Style Manager? It is bad practice to change individual text fields. Normally you check the Object Styles, then the Master slides. I don't think you'll want to have a different style on each question slide?
