I'm working on a project where our .swf files are around 30MB, which seemed reasonable compared to those I produced for a previous client, also working in Captivate 8. However, the LMS people say that it's way too big, because Flash files of a 1-2MB are considered large.
A typical course is 40 slides, linked to a PowerPoint presentation. By compressing the pictures in the .pptx to 96dpi and publishing from Captivate at low quality, I reduced the file size to 15 MB.
Are these file sizes large for Captivate?
15MB is very reasonable! I have been working with much larger files. I think your LMS people are a bit 'old-fashioned'? Especially if you do have audio in the files, 1-2MB is almost impossible. They are probably thinking about small animations, not about interactive courses.

Thanks, Lilybiri, I thought the same thing. From looking at other forum posts, it seems like people usually don't start complaining until well over 100MB.
I'm beginning to think the LMS server is on dial-up.
