Hi
I am using the systemvariable cpQuizInfoPointsscored in a text object to display the score.
I am using buttons across the project and set the reporting to add to quizz and add to total.
At the end of my course its a button to take the course again if the user did not get all the points.
If I go through the course and not answering all the questions. Click the try again button and take the questions I skipped the first time. The score gets set to 0 and starts over? Any idea what this is.
Am I using the wrong variable?

Welcome to the forum!
First tip: please mention the exact version of Captivate which you are using. The full version number is required, which you can find under the option 'About Captivate', either in the Help menu (Windows) or in the Captivate menu.
Due to the system variable name you are using it is not version 12 (happy about that).
You don't explain how you triggered a new attempt on quiz level? Normally that happens by setting the Quiz attempts in the Quiz Preferences and providing the Retake button. More information:

That is part of my basic Quiz course.
You are using the correct system variable but a new attempt means that all answers are reset, not only the wrongly answered ones. Here is another link:

Hi And thank you. Although I have been a user of this forum for many years. And captivate since it was macromedia, almost 🙂 New job, new adobe account.
Im not using quizz modul. I have single buttons that generate points.
.11.8.2 version
New attemt is just a button at the end that show up if the points are below 7. If its 7 the button do not show up. Simple else/if script. The button only takes the user to the first slide again. (Go to slide...) When answering the question that I skipped. It reset the count to 0. Doesnt make sense.

You probably don't know about the Advanced Interaction panel (F9)? It shows the Total score and if you included the scores of the buttons in that score they will show there as well. Here is a link to my blog post about this very useful panel which many people ignore (and was taken out of version 12):

You can add a score slide once you have at least one score object, and use all features of that score slide. That would be a lot easier than your present workflow. It must have either some logical bugs or missing some advanced actions.

I have 4 drag and drop slides. thought it could be that who caused the problems.
But I tested to skipp another question with only a button that pop up when doing a task. The button adds 1 point. But even there it reset the scores.

D&D slides are sort of hybrid quiz slides. They don't have all the features but resetting when retaking the quiz is a feature they share with normal quiz slides. You can find lot of posts on my blog trying to have the missing features for D&D.

I understand that you want people to visit your blog, and I understand that alot of information are there. But here the problem is that the score variable get reset and I wondered why that is. If it was some setup around the variable that works like that. refering to the blog in all your answers will contribute to the opposit of what you are looking for, I think. I say this with the best intentions. Have been using your blog for a lot of research so its a good source for information.

I have more than sufficient views on my blog ( around 3,000,000 ). No need to have more.
You want help but you provide not enough information. Only recently you mentioned that the score in your project is the result of a combination of scored D&D slides and scored buttons. Reset happens because you activate in some ways the Retake functionality. This is challenging my patience. Sorry.
