When I publish exe files from Captivate 7, I get a white screen when I run the exe. This didn't happen to any of the files not long ago, a couple of weeks ago. Reason none of the exe's I've created work?

All I get is this white screen. I applied the update to Captivate 7. It publishes as a SWF fine, just not an EXE. HELP!!

Yes it's the latest Flash update that is causing the issue. There is another Beta update that should fix the problem but its only for windows 7 and below.

Have you tested it on other machines than yours?

Yes, tested on multiple machines. Someone tried to use the file and that brought it to my attention.

If I were in your shoes, I'd begin by creating a simple project. Perhaps three slides long. Make each slide a different color. Then publish that out as an EXE. If it works, then it would seem to suggest an issue with this particular project. But if it also is presented as just white, I'd start by looking at the version of the flash player on your system. If it's the latest, try performing an uninstall and downgrade the flash player to an older version. See if that changes anything.

Cheers... Rick

Ok, it's weird that I've opened multiple projects and it's the same result. Same projects I've opened recently without issue. Can't hurt to try the flash trick either. Thanks Rick!

No, it has been an ongoing issue. Adobe support couldn’t figure it out, nor has my internal IT team. They are still working on it. Seems to only occur on our computers with Windows 7. All those that have windows 8 can run the exe files, no problem.

Okay, that is helpful. I contacted Adobe support and my IT as well. Hopefully, one of us can figure what is causing it not to work. Might have something to do with a Windows 7 update.

It’s such a weird issue. I will definitely post a resolution if I find one first.

Some other users are reporting an issue with non-functional EXE files due to the latest version of Flash Player (20) causing the issue.

Could this be the cause in your case/s as well?

This is only a User Forum, not Adobe Support.  Nobody here is going to be able to tell you when this issue will be resolved, but you can be sure there will DEFINITELY be people working on it.

Some users reported that the fixed Flash player, which you can find here: Flash Player 20.0.0.267 - ActiveX Embedding Issue   is only fixing the problem for Win7, not for Win8 nor Win10. Like you I'm waiting for a solution for all Win versions, but you see they definitely are working on it. Meanwhile you could downgrade the Flash player, but I understand that is not feasible for all users watching published courses.
