Hi all
I am using Cp6 and must have inadvertently hidden this window somehow

and I canot find a way to distribute my audio files over a number of slides without it. Every method of importing audio ends with the file being added to a single slide and the sliders not being visible on the 'edit audio' timeline.
I have tried starting a couple of new projects but get the same result.
Suggestions most welcome please!
Simon

Did you perhaps use two monitors before? You can clean the preferences, I don't know if the files also exist in CP6 but have a look in the subfolder Utils of the CP installation folder? If you don't have that subfolder, will tell you the manual way.

Thanks Lily
I shall need to get my ICT dept to take a look since all of the systems files/folders are restricted access on our LAN. You are right that I normally use two monitors (and am still using two monitors) - but how does that make a difference?
Thanks
Simon

Because, sorry to tell this, Captivate remembers that situation at this moment and the audio window is probably on the other monitor. If you can connect temporarily a second monitor you should be able to drag everything to the primary monitor again.

I haven't changed my setup and have the same two monitors as before and there are no indications that another window has opened 'off screen'. The imported audio goes straight to the Add/Edit/CC playbar and that is automatically made the live screen.

So that is not the cause of your problems then. Did you try in another blank project to see if it works there?

Twice. No difference. And on projects that previously allowed me to add audio properly I cannot access the project audio to rearrange the audio sliders that dictate where each slide starts. It works fine on another machine though so it has to be a local setting of some kind.

Still would recommend to refresh the Preferences, could be solved then. Which exact version of 6 are you on? First one was very buggy.

We're running 6.0.1.240 as part of the e-Learning Suite 6.1. I have put a call into the ICT helpdesk and will see what they come back with, although I'm not holding my breath since their working knowledge of Adobe products is not very extensive.

I just found a version of CP6 (same as yours) on my old laptop. There is a subfolder Utils, this is the path on Windows, I use a 64-bit version (32-bit has it as well).
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6 x64\utils
They have to run the CleanPreferences file suiting for your OS. Since you probably do not have administration right, you will not be able to access that folder.
BTW: are you running Captivate as administrator (if you are on Win)? That is important to have all the features working. It doesn't mean full administrator rights, only for Captivate.
Get ready! An upgraded Adobe Community experience is coming in January.
