Why don't my Jump to slide buttons work?

Community Beginner ,

Hi

In my Captivate 8 project, I have created buttons that jump to certain slides within my project. Some work and some don't, I have checked for pauses and looked for anything odd in the Master slides but can't see anything strange ( I've probably missed something so simple). I've even tried to use an advance action to jump to another slide and this does not work. Can anyone offer some suggestions please.

Thanks

Which version of 8?

Where are the slides to which you cannot jump? Are they perhaps after or before quiz slides? If yes, can you show the settings for the Quiz? How did you check: if it is not possible to do this after publishing, try F12 (Browser for SWF output) ot F11 (for HTML output) if this is a normal project. Do not use Preview from this slide, or Next 5 slides, because the slides before (and after 5 slides) are not created in the temporary output.

Hi Lilybiri

So I have setup a topics page which has 4 jump to buttons.

The first 2 buttons jump to slides that are before the quiz slides. However only one of these buttons work. The other 2 buttons jump to slides after the quiz

My Timeline looks like this:

You don't use the latest version (8.0.3.???) Sorry I don't remember the exact number, am on 9 myself.

The timeline shows two buttons with two different pausing points? Maybe you could have a look at my sequence of posts explaining the Timeline. Next 4th article to be published soon will be about Pausing the Timeline.

Sorry, should have been clearer about Quiz settings, you are showing the Question slide properties. : I meant the Quiz Preferences; Settings, especially the option you have chosen for Required? If you changed that option, can you first change it back to Optional to see if the jump buttons are functional in that case?

Can you also answer my question about 'How did you test'?

Tested by Preview project.

My settings for quiz are currently:

Also: I have buttons that link to are internal intranet site and pauses the project. What is the best way for the user to resume the project, bearing in mind I am not using the default control bars in captivate.

Oh and maybe I need an update on my version of captivate

LATEST

Update if possible, yes!

Quiz Settings look OK, you also allow Backwards navigation besides the Required option.

I doubt there will be a difference, but can you check in Browser (either for SWF or for HTML)?

It probably is due to the custom navigation set up, since you mention the Pause command. How is the navigation set up: with shape buttons on the master slide?
