Why is my "Use Portion of Background Image" option missing?

I have Cap 8 running on a Mac. I opened a new Responsive Project and selected one of the standard themes but when I look ate the tablet or mobile views, the backgrounds scale down and get distorted. the help says there should be a "Use Portion of Background Image" check box in the properties panel (just about the "Master Slide objects on Top" box) but I do not have one. Any ideas why it is missing?

I suspect what you read in the Help is for software simulations, where you can allow Captivate for mobile to zoom in on a part of the background.

Not according to the help. This is specific to Responsive Projects. I'm really at a loss on this.

Maybe you are right, but I only know this for software sims in responsive projects.

You were totally right. The image in the help is misleading. Makes it look like it is just an image they copied over and not a system screen capture.

Thanks for confirming. The only reason I started blogging some years ago, was because I found a lot of 'gaps' in the official Help documentation.

Is it OK if I mark the thread as 'Assumed Answered'? There is probably no real 'Correct Answer'. If you don't like me marking it that way, tell me and I'll take it out.

Sorry, also now with CP 2017, you could set a background image for the Fluid Box, and then adjust the tiling

I know i'm a bit late to this conversation, but a way around this would be to duplicate one of the system simulation slides, and then change the background to the one you wanted to use.

Remove the mouse etc.

This is definitely an option that should be available for all slides.
