I have a course that I designed in Captivate 8. I have since upgrade to 9 and then 2017. The YouTube widget is not playing properly.
I removed the old widget and inserted the new one which came with 2017.
I am published in SWF/html5.
I also downloaded a version of the widget referenced in a June 30, 2017 blog post within this community.
This is not a responsive course, if that makes a difference.
Any suggestions?

I stopped using the YouTube learning interaction a version or two ago when Google changed their API which inadvertently broke the older version of the YouTube widget (just stopped working). Instead what I do now is insert my YouTube videos into courses using a web object. Here is a video I did on creating more advanced embed codes for YouTube that might help you out.

Hi, it is a known issue in the 2017 release. As a work around, download the updated YouTube widget.
The instructions are in YouTube widget issues in SWF output
Let me know the result.

I am still unable to get the widget to work. Wondering if there is something in the settings I am not doing correctly. Would love to know if there are in cases of the widget working and what settings were used. I have also tried the web object and hyperlink routes and none of them work.

I know I'm late to the party here, but I wanted to add my recent experience in getting the YouTube widget to work. I had previously been having some issues with using the (updated / fixed) YouTube widget; sometimes it would function as expected and sometimes it wouldn't, without a clear indication as to what was going on.
In working on course building today, I realized that the trick was what URL I'm putting into the widget. Using the default direct link to a YouTube video (such as 'https://youtu.be/___________') doesn't work for me, nor does using an embed code, but if I put things in this format then the widget works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=___________&feature=youtu.be (where the blank is filled in with the same character combination as the previous, simpler URL).
It's also important to note that the widget slides do not work for me if I publish my course and try to run it from my computer. The slides do work after uploading the course to SCORM Cloud or my LMS. Currently the F11 preview option seems to be working too, though I have had some previous inconsistency with that.
Good luck!
