I am working with a Quickstart project and want to embed a youtube video but I can't seem to replace the captivate stock video that is currently there. Been working with this for days and still no luck! Any ideas?

Can you please specify the Quick Start Project you are using, and the slide you are talking about. That will make it easier to find a way to help you out. I have blogged a lot about those QSPs, but not particularly about slides embedding videos.

I am using the general business template and referring to the video slide
that I would like to edit. Currently there is a stock adobe video on it
with no sound. I want to make this a YouTube video to play here instead of
you can help!

That is a problem because the inserted video is an Event video. Such a video is included in the published folder. Moreover it plays independently of Captivate's timeline.

That is not the case when pointing to a YouTube video, because it will be streamed and inserted as slide video.

You could try to insert a web object instead of the event video in that slide, and point to the Youtube URL. Make sure also to have a look at the Advanced action triggered On Enter for this slide, you may need to edit that action as well.

Well, I have tried everything from inserting a web object to trying to
insert a PPT slide with the video and I’m not getting very far. I can see
the video in my filmstrip when I insert it as a web object but when I go to
preview it, it doesn’t play, the screen is blank and then skips to the next
slide. Who knew embedding a video would be so challenging. Any help is
appreciated!

Are you sure that this YouTube video allows you to embed it elsewhere?
