Hello.
I am Using Captivate 2017.
In the project I'm working on, I have zoom sources on slides that also have different features, such as highlight boxes. I have noticed that, when previewing in certain formats, all of the items that shouldn't be visible while the zoom destination is shown can be seen anyway. The pictures below demonstrate what I mean:
In the left image, you can see what it looks like when I preview in Captivate. This is as it should be.
In the middle image, you can see what it looks like in HTML5, or in Browser, or when uploaded to an LMS. The highlight boxes are shown in the zoom destination but are not visible.
The third picture shows the view in captivate, with every item across the timeline shown.
The above image is the timeline. As you can see, the Zoom_Source_3 item does not overlap with either of the two highlight boxes, BOTH of which are present in the zoom destination in the central image.
I believe that Captivate uses the default slide view (the third picture above, and what you'd see if you paused the slide and looked at every object in it) for zoom boxes. It does not use the "current" view as determined by the timeline.
a) Is there any known solution for this? I can always split the items between different slides if I have to, but that doesn't solve the problem itself.
b) This is definitely something that Adobe should consider fixing for their next release; the problem significantly limits the usability of zoom boxes on complex slides.
Thank you for reading!

Just double-checked and you are correct for HTML5 output. For SWF output everything looks as expected for me. I never did see this, because I always replace the zoomed out area by a custom image with better quality.
Since the zoom object is one of the objects that are not supported for fluid boxes development at this moment, which had the priiority with this release, must have been overlooked.
BTW I also checked in CP9 and same result: works for SWF, not for HTML5 output. Zoom object is not mentioned to be unsupported for HTML5, only for Fluid Boxes. My tests were on a non-responsive project.
