Hi Friends,

I have a scenario to assign manager essential courses to all people managers (new hire or new to role) automatically as a mandatory training.

Learner get system notifications for assignments, reminders to complete it in the given time window with the flexibility to self-register to classroom offerings or virtual sessions based on their availability.

Current system functionality does not allow to assign course unless select the available session. This is stopping us from the system assignments and as a workaround we do have to ask, rely on users to self assign the session based on their availability. This is a very time consuming exercise and hoping any of you have recommendations or suggestions to share.

One way to allow learners to select a time that is convenient for them is to create a course with multiple Virtual Classroom or Classroom Modules, each with a different date and time and only require the Learner to complete one of them.

A course like this could be auto-assigned through a Learning Plan and/or included as a course in a Learning Program.

Feel free to contact me directly if you like.

In my opinion this could potentially work, however, from an admin and instructor perspective you wouldn't be able to keep track of which date the learner would be attending. They would receive calendar invitation for all sessions. They could accept or decline the calendar invites, but admin/ instructor wouldn't know which session they are choosing unless they looked at their calendar.

You could edit the calendar invite email template directing learners to accept 1 out of the 3 instructor led sessions (as an example) in their calendars as well to make it more clear. New hires would receive multiple calendar invitations (if you use this feature) once they are enrolled through the learning plan.

Are there other methods to allow learners to select a time that is convenient for them? We have courses that are offered in classroom and virtually. How can we assign and allow them to enroll in a session of there choice?

Thanks!
