Yes. That would be either Cp4 or earlier. You will find that you cannot open it with the latest versions of Captivate 7 or 8.  You would need to open it with Cp5 or 6 first, then save as CPTX format of that version before attempting to open with a more recent version of Cp.

If the file format is VERY old (e.g. Cp2 or 3) then you may find it won't even open in Cp5.

Hi Rod,

That is what. I had thought....i do still have a copy of CP 1 through 3, so will dig those out from storage & do as you suggest.

Thanks

My employer refreshes our laptops every 3 years, I no longer have copies of Captivate 3, 4 or 5 on my computer, although my Adobe profile would show that I once owned those files. Is it possible to download a copy of Captivate 5 to facilitate the conversion of older files?

Hi

pjfulwider. In the end, although I did have CP 2 and 3, It did not actually open with those versions (don't know why) but I did what Rod had said and opened it in CP6, which worked really well and is now up to date with CP7 etc as well.

Hope that helps. As far as downloading a previous copy goes, you will need to contact Adobe for that, but generally they do sort something out for you.

Cheers

Rossco
