Using Captivate 2019 and Acrobat Reader DC v11 and 12.

When we publish our Captivate eLearning project (SWF), we routinely export the PDF and send to reviewers. With the 2019 version, Reader DC displays an error about 3D not being enabled. We try to enable it in Reader but it still will not open.

Can 3D capability be turned off in the published Captivate project?

You are publishing to swf.  From the Adobe website if you click on the Learn more button.

"You need Flash Player to view Flash content in PDFs, PDF Portfolios, and other features. Adobe Reader and Acrobat no longer include Flash Player, and features that require Flash now leverage the machine’s local copy of Flash. This new strategy allows users and administrators to manage Flash Player updates independently of Acrobat product updates."

Check to see that you have the flash player installed on your machines which can be accessed by Adobe Reader.

You are correct in that you must have Flash Player loaded but it is standard on Windows 10. From tests, however, we figured out the Acrobat version is the issue. Captivate 2019 supports 3D imaging. Acrobat version 2019.012.20036 will not work with the Captivate 2019 PDF. You can enable it in the 20036 version preferences but it still crashes. You MUST have Reader version 2019.012.20040 and enable the 3D feature via the Acrobat Edit > Preferences > 3D & Multimedia setting for enablement. Then and only then will the Captivate 2019 PDF work.

Hello - We tried this as well, but you still have to save the file and reopen it to get it to run in Acrobat Reader. There must be an easier way...
