Course loses communication with Scorm APIs, how to show errors?

We have run into a very odd issue with our captivate course and the LMS we have.

So we load the SCORM APIs in one window and the course is another. What seems to be happening is the course window will lose communication back to the parent window which causes users to go through the entire course but never get marked as completed altough the summary screen at the end says they got 100%.

The issue is the course window does not throw any kinds of errors or alerts to the user. I can see things show up in the console but those are because it can no longer access or find the parent window where the API files reside.

This is a big issue as people are having to take things 2,3,4 times in order for it to work.

Were these courses created with Captivate?

Do the learners at any point in the course have to click a link to open some other window that breaks the connection or does it just seem to time out and then break?
