Creating animations controlled by the user's mouse click

Hi there

I am creating training material on captivate 2017 and i can only seem to make the text and animations work through the time line. I want the user to click through the animations and text boxes with their mouse so they can read at their pace. Powerpoint animations can work like this? Please help. Thanks

New to Captivate? You seem to ignore that there are many ways to pause the timeline and wait for a mouse click or other actions by the user. That is the core of interactivity. What do you mean by the word 'animations' because that can have very different meanings depending on its use. Have some reading:
